Samsung just announced an improved BioActive Sensor, set to unlock "new possibilities for preventative wellness". The new sensor is to feature in the upcoming Galaxy watches starting with the Galaxy Watch7. It is touted to be more accurate than its predecessor and offer AGEs index monitoring.

Samsung just announced that the new Galaxy Watch7 will come with a brand new BioActive sensor which will offer better performance in comparison to its predecessor. Samsung claims this sensor will provide users "with more comprehensive, personalized and accurate health data".

This new BioActive sensor will be the first to support Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) index monitoring. Samsung also stated that this feature will come with a side effect — people with photosensitive skin may get minor rashes and or skin discoloration. It is advised that users stop using the feature if they notice any of these effects.

The Korean company says the number of photodiodes in the sensor have been reduced from 8 to 4 as the improvements it made increased the performance of individual photodiodes by over 200%. Samsung also stated that the space freed by this development was used to fit a higher number and a higher variety of LEDs.

The new sensor features more red and green infrared LEDs and now includes blue, violet, yellow, and ultraviolet LEDs. Samsung claims the new sensor will measure stress levels, sleep quality, blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, and heart rate more accurately but also warns it should not be used to completely replace conventional measures of monitoring one's health.

The new BioActive sensor will pair up with the Exynos W1000 SoC as the fantastic duo tasked with establishing the Galaxy Watch7 as a much superior option compared to its predecessors as well as other products on the market.

Galaxy Watch7 screen protector cases are already available on Amazon.com and the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 is available too for $179.99.
