Xiaomi Smart Band 9: New specs revealed for Xiaomi's next wearable alongside alleged render images
Xiaomi has released plenty of devices this year, including its first POCO-branded tablet. However, there is no sign of a new wearable yet, at least not yet officially. Instead, the likes of the Watch S3 and Watch 2 Pro remain the company's most recent options, as do the Smart Band 8 and Smart Band 8 Pro (curr. $45.99 on Amazon).
A recent leak may have revealed a few details about a prospective Smart Band 9 though, which we last discussed in April. Supposedly, the Smart Band 9 will closely resemble its predecessor, which was difficult to visually distinguish from the Smart Band 7 itself. As such, the Smart Band 9 is said to sport an oval case weighing roughly 27 g, including a strap, with a 1.62-inch display.

However, the smartwatch is expected to measure 46.53 x 21.63 x 10.95 mm, compared to 48mm x 22.5mm x 10.99 mm for the Smart Band 8. Moreover, the Smart Band 9 is rumoured to adopt an aluminium alloy casing with a sandblasted finish. Furthermore, while the display remains a 60 Hz panel, it is anticipated to peak at 1,200 nits, double its predecessor's peak brightness.
On top of that, Xiaomi has claimed to have equipped the wearable with a 233 mAh battery, a 43 mAh increase. As a result, the device is rumoured to deliver up to 9 days with its always-on display (AOD) activated, or 21 days of 'normal' with AOD disabled. Other more minor upgrades include 10% more accurate heart rate and SpO2 sensors, plus a switch from Bluetooth 5.1 to Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Unfortunately, a release date still remains unknown for now in any market.
