Garmin has released yet another update for Fenix 7 series smartwatches and their peers. Following on from Beta Version 17.22, Beta Version 17.23 is said to resolve a potential critical issue that occurs after applying a software update.

Garmin only recently delivered a new stable update for the Fenix 7 series and its peers. However, it then reverted to its Beta Program by releasing Beta Version 17.22 with a bug fix for an issue that could have caused crashes when starting an activity. Incidentally, there have been reports that Software Version 17.20, the last stable update, contained enough bugs for Garmin to pause its rollout.

To that end, Garmin has since introduced Beta Version 17.23 with enough bug fix that supports this view. Please note that the update is only available to non-Pro smartwatches. Hence, Beta Version 17.23 is currently unavailable for the likes of the Epix 2 Pro and the Fenix 7 Pro (curr. $709.99 on Amazon), among others.

Presumably, any of these interim bug fixes will be rolled into a new stable update for all Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7, Quatix 7 and Marq 2 smartwatches. In the meantime, Beta Version 17.23 is said to address an issue that may result in a system shutdown after applying a software update. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
