Garmin has released firmware version 10.20 for the Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches. The new stable update brings several features to the wearable, previously tested by users who installed beta software version 10.12. It follows version 9.28, a minor update which arrived in April.
Firmware version 10.20 adds the Find Phone tool, which allows you to track down a lost phone using its last known GPS position. Another new feature is support for the Garmin Messenger app with an accompanying glance. The change log also notes the addition of the heart rate dynamic source switching tool for customers who use a chest strap and smartwatch simultaneously. Garmin says that the tool should improve the accuracy of heart rate data collected, particularly during running activities. However, users of other wearables like the Fenix 7 and Forerunner 955 have flagged issues with the feature. On top of this, there is a new GCM Translations software, version 2.17.
When the Garmin team last updated the forum post on June 6th, they confirmed that the software was available to 75% of Venu 3 series users. When offered to you, you can download firmware version 10.20 for the Garmin Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches through Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile.
