Motorola has seemingly officially presented the Razr 50s through a prominent retail partner. Arriving as the third Razr 50 release of the year, the Motorola Razr 50s has an unusual set of specifications that closely mirror those of the existing Razr 50.

A few weeks have passed since initial details about a possible third Razr 50 release appeared online. While Motorola did not confirm anything officially at the time, the appearance of a 'Razr 50s' on the HDR10+ public database suggested that the device would be released in one form or another soon. To that end, the Razr 50s subsequently surfaced on Geekbench, underlining that such a device was in development.

Now, SoftBank has listed a device by the same name on its Japanese website, complete with images and specifications. According to SoftBank, Motorola has based the Razr 50s around a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset and a 4200 mAh battery, which sit within a 171 x 74 x 7.3 mm housing when opened. Additionally, the IPX8-certified device is said to feature 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, as well as 50 MP primary, 13 MP ultra-wide-angle and 32 MP selfie cameras.

In short, little to nothing separates the Razr 50s from the existing Razr 50 (curr. $699.99 on Amazon). Typically, this occurs when a smartphone manufacturer intends to offer a device as some sort of limited regional release. However, Motorola already sells the Razr 50 in Japan. Thus, it is unclear how Motorola will distinguish the Razr 50s from the presumably more expensive Razr 50. According to @OnLeaks, the Razr 50s will receive a full release on September 27.
