Leaker discusses OnePlus Open 2 and Oppo Find N5 alongside rumoured Oppo Find X8 Ultra
Rumours surrounding OnePlus' and Oppo's next-generation foldable releases are hotting up. For context, the former introduced the OnePlus Open Apex Edition over the summer, albeit with the same underlying hardware as the original OnePlus Open (curr. $1,199.99 on Amazon).
Allegedly, neither OnePlus nor Oppo intend to introduce true next-generation foldables until early 2025. In the meantime, @RODENT950 has offered some insights into the state of their development. Allegedly, Oppo has been testing the Find N5 with the same 'quad camera setup' as the rumoured Find X8 Ultra.
Theoretically, this would represent a significant upgrade over the Find N3 and OnePlus Open, which feature 48 MP primary, 64 MP telephoto and 48 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras. Unfortunately, @RODENT950 reports that this will not come to pass. Instead, Oppo is said to have returned to a triple-camera alternative.
While camera specifications remain unknown for now, @RODENT950 asserts that the Find N5 will debut in Q1 2025 with the Find X8 Ultra. Based on previous reports, both the Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2 will land with a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery, as well as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset within an IPX8-certified and sub-200 g housing.
