Prominent leaker claims Samsung Galaxy S25 series will pack Snapdragon 8 Elite worldwide
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is due to launch in early 2025, and even though past reports have hinted that the standard S25 and S25+ may pack the Exynos 2500, Ice Universe reports otherwise. The tipster confidently claims that all the models will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite worldwide.
This wouldn't be the first time we will see Samsung offering Snapdragon-only S-series flagship phones across the world. The Galaxy S23 series, for example, didn't have any Exynos variant. As for the upcoming lineup, the reason behind the lack of Exynos options could be poor Exynos 2500 yield rates.
However, the Galaxy S25 Plus was recently spotted on Geekbench with what's thought to be the Exynos 2500. Of course, the leaker who shared the result, @Jukanlosreve, did mention that the specific device was a sample, and the benchmark was apparently a test run.
No Exynos variant for the Galaxy S25 series wouldn't be bad, though. Compared to the Snapdragon variants, the Exynos-equipped counterparts usually can't offer the same level of performance. They are often subject to thermal and efficiency issues as well.
But again, even though Ice Universe is a reputed leaker and the tipster is confidently making a claim here, this is still a rumor. Samsung could possibly push out the new Exynos 2500 chips despite bad yields, and we could see some Galaxy S25 models released with it in some regions.
