Philips launches new HomeRun 9000 Series robot vacuum with advanced mopping technology
The Philips HomeRun 9000 Series XU9100/10 vacuum and wash robot is now available in various countries worldwide, including the Netherlands, Germany and Australia. The smart home device is said to offer up to 8,000 Pa suction power and suit an area of around 250 m² (~2,690 ft²).
The HomeRun 9000 Series has a side brush and main roller brush with an adjacent comb-like mechanism that aims to prevent tangled hair. Philips advertises the robot vacuum with PowerCyclone Aqua mopping technology. This provides a constant supply of fresh water to the roller mop while removing dirty water to make your floors even cleaner. The company claims that the robot can run for up to three weeks hands-free thanks to its self-cleaning docking station. Upon docking, the dustbin and dirty water tank are automatically emptied, the fresh water tank replenished, and the mop washed and dried with 50°C (~122°F) hot air.
The robot uses a D-ToF laser to navigate your home. The laser is integrated into the side of the device rather than sitting in a tower on top, reducing the height and allowing it to travel under more furniture. Other features include remote controls via the HomeRun Robot app, obstacle avoidance and mop lifting when the carpet is detected. Plus, the 6,500 mAh battery allows the robot to run for up to 280 minutes between charges.
You can buy the Philips HomeRun 9000 Series XU9100/10 robot vacuum in the EU at third-party retailers like CoolBlue and MediaMarkt for €1,199. In Australia, the model is priced at A$1,997 and is available at retailers such as Bing Lee. It is unclear when the product could roll out to more countries like the US and the UK.
