Philips Hue announces new update with improvements for smart home devices
Philips Hue Secure camera products are being updated. Secure cameras firmware version 1.2.26 (877000) began rolling out on November 18, bringing a range of improvements to these smart home products.
The release notes for update 1.2.26 state that the Philips Hue team has worked to improve the success rate for clip uploads, as well as the stability of the Bluetooth connection. The motion detection feature has been optimized, reducing the number of accidental triggers relating to lighting. Plus, the functionality of the Setup button is said to be enhanced, though the company does not state what has changed.
On top of this, there are two updates for non-wired devices, like the Hue Secure Battery camera (currently $139.99 at Amazon). According to the change log, the camera will now reboot less frequently when it disconnects from the internet or when the speaker is active. Rumors suggest that another update could launch later this month, bringing enhanced integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. However, Philips Hue has yet to officially announce a release date for this update.
