Amazon's smart display gets bigger with the Echo Show 21, announced alongside a refreshed Echo Show 15
Amazon has announced its largest smart display yet in the form of the Echo Show 21, and it arrives alongside a refresh of the 2022 Echo Show 15.
The Echo Show 21 has a 21'' Full-HD resolution which Amazon says is nearly double the viewing area of the Echo Show 15 which has a 15.6'' FHD screen. Although both are smart displays with Alexa, they have Fire TV built-in and come with an Alexa Voice Remote which makes them smart TVs, too.

Save for the extra screen estate, the Echo Show 21 is no different from the Echo Show 15 (2nd gen). The two smart displays have a 13MP wide angle camera with 3.3x zoom and auto-framing for video calls. Like the Echo Show 21, the new Echo Show 15 has two 0.6'' tweeters and two 2'' woofers which results in better audio quality than the 2022 Echo Show 15.
While the two Echo Show devices can be used for streaming TV shows, as digital photo frames, and for displaying important info such as shopping lists, to-do lists, weather, and the family calendar, they double as smart home hubs with support for Matter, Thread, and Zigbee devices. This allows owners to use them to control locally a multitude of smart home appliances.
Another common feature of the new smart displays is support for Wi-Fi 6E for a faster streaming experience. The Echo Show 21 and Echo Show 15 can be mounted on the wall, or you can buy a counter stand if you'd rather have it on the countertop.
Amazon has already begun selling the new Echo Show devices. The Echo Show 21 is priced at $399.99 while the Echo Show 15 is cheaper at $299.99. Buyers can also purchase additional frames (white or light brown) that snap around the edges of the smart displays. The frames are priced at $34.99 for the Echo Show 15 and $39.99 for the Echo Show 21. The premium counter stand is priced at $99.99.
