Homematic IP's new smart lightstrip arrives with natural lighting effect

The Homematic IP Smart Home Lightstrip and Lightstrip Set have been launched in some European countries. The smart home products were unveiled at the Light + Building 2024 show earlier this year.

The Lightstrip Set is the main product, combining a 2 m (~6 ft) long RGBWW strip light with a controller and a power supply. Features of the smart light include a Human Centric Lighting (HCL) mode, which mimics the changes in natural light throughout the day, similar to the Philips Hue Natural Light scene. There is also a Dim2Warm tool for a warmer light temperature when dimmed, like incandescent lighting. You can set up a timer in the Homematic IP app and control the smart light with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands. Plus, you can link several Lightstrip 1 m (~3 ft) extensions for up to 10 m (~33 ft) of lighting.

You can buy the Homematic IP Smart Home Lightstrip Set 2 m in Switzerland, Germany and Austria at retailer ELV for CHF 65.60/€69.95. This makes it cheaper than the Philips Hue White and Colour Ambient Lightstrip, which has an €89.95 RRP; however, this product is currently reduced to €52.99 at Amazon Germany for Black Friday. The Homematic IP Smart Home Lightstrip 1 m extension is priced at CHF 28.10/€29.95.
