Philips Hue releases app update with new feature and bug fixes
The Philips Hue app version 5.31.0 has arrived for iOS and Android users. The change log for the Android app simply states that there are various stability improvements and bug fixes. Unfortunately, the company does not specify what issues it has addressed or indicate where users may feel the benefit of the update.
The release notes for the iOS version of the app indicate that users can now open the live video stream for a linked Secure camera via the Home Screen widget. However, this functionality actually arrived in app version 5.30, though it was not announced at the time. To set up this camera shortcut, press and hold the Home Screen, select Edit > Add widget.
On top of this, there is another undisclosed addition: support for a multi-bridge set-up. The feature is designed for users with more than one Hue Bridge (curr. $42.73 at Amazon). This new functionality allows users to control all of their smart home products at once, something that was previously impossible. You can now download the Philips Hue app version 5.31.0 from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
