The compact and versatile Flic Duo smart button is now available for pre-order
Even in its compact form factor, the Flic Duo attracted crowds of onlookers at CES 2025. Flic buttons are a way to ease those who prefer physical switches into the smart home age. The Flic Duo effortlessly transitions from a wall switch to a remote control, doing everything from dimming lights to calling for help after accidents. While exact ship dates are unknown, supporters of the Flic Launch Campaign can now pre-order the smart button for $49. Everyone else is encouraged to reserve the Flic Duo for its regular $59 price.
At a shade over 2 inches long, the white or black Flic Duo is barely noticeable when mounted on walls. However, the device features two tactile buttons and LED indicators that respond to inputs. Homeowners can map both buttons to over 30 triggers, controlling devices on virtually any smart home ecosystem. The Flic Duo communicates with smartphones, but ideally, owners will also have the Flic Hub for more reliable performance.
The Flic Duo's other personality emerges when used as a handheld device. The smart switch supports an extensive list of motion gestures, like holds and twists, to adjust TV or music volume. Enlisting the IFTTT app opens up even more possibilities. The software chains actions together on multiple platforms, including Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Philips Hue.
Admittedly, the Flic Duo is not inexpensive, especially when outfitting a household with multiple units. Still, Flic claims that over 10,000 Flic Duo smart buttons have already been pre-ordered. To add to the excitement, the company is hosting the Flic Adventure Game on its website. Rewards for completing missions consist of a variety of loot and discounts on Flic Duo accessories.
