A new update is rolling out to the Philips Hue Bridge. Software version 1969060020 arrived on January 30th and brings several improvements to the smart home device. It follows the December update, which added support for the new all-day scenes and enhanced the Go to sleep automation.
The release notes for software version 1969060020 state that there is an improvement for motion sensor triggers when your smart lights are set to turn to the Last on state. This appears to be a fix for a bug reported by some users, where lights were triggered by motion sensors, but the previous setting was not applied.
In addition, Philips Hue says that it has optimized some versions of the Twilight sleep and wake-up light, which launched last year. However, it does not make clear precisely what changes have been made. On top of this, there are said to be general performance and reliability enhancements; again, no further details are provided.
The company indicated that the release would begin a few days after the announcement without confirming when the rollout would be complete. The software should be installed on your Hue Bridge (curr. $43.48 at Amazon) automatically. We recommend that you check that you have automatic updates switched on in the Philips Hue app by going to Settings > Software update > Automatic update.
