A new version of the IKEA Home Smart app for the Apple Watch appears to have been launched. The IKEA Home smart app allows users to remotely control smart home products connected to the IKEA Dirigera hub. Before this latest update, it was only available to iOS and Android smartphone users.
The Apple Watch app was recently reported by users following the release of the IKEA Home Smart app version 1.43.0. However, the change log does not note the new Apple Watch features. Perhaps it is in the final stages of testing and an official announcement will follow with the next update.
Screenshots at the Apple App Store show that, from the home screen, Apple Watch users can scroll through cards linked to rooms in their homes. On each card are icons depicting the connected smart home devices in each area. Users can trigger Scenes like Calm Wake Up and individually control smart bulbs, lamps, blinds and speakers. For example, you can now adjust the color or brightness of smart lights on your wrist.
It is worth noting that the IKEA Home Smart app for Apple Watch requires watchOS 10.6 or later. This should mean that the app is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 and later, including the popular Series 10 (GPS, 46mm, curr. $359 at Amazon). The IKEA Home Smart App version 1.43.0 can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.
