Herman Miller is especially known for its premium, high-priced office chairs. The company has now unveiled a height-adjustable desk featuring four motors instead of two, a lift capacity of 180 kg (400 lb), and built-in USB-C ports capable of 100-watt charging via Power Delivery.

Unlike most competing products, the latest Herman Miller Spout height-adjustable desk sports a distinctive design with four motorised legs rather than two. The desk height is adjustable from 68.6 to 116 cm (27 to 47 in), whilst the motors can lift loads of up to 180 kg (400 lb).

The cylindrical design of the four legs allows them to sit flush with the tabletop’s rounded corners. The Spout is available in the following sizes: 116 x 58 cm (23 x 46 in), 148 x 74 cm (29 x 58 in), and 178 x 89 cm (35 x 70 in). Due to the solid metal base, the largest model weighs a hefty 70 kg (155 lb). The desk comes with two standout features: The first is a drawer large enough to accommodate a laptop.

The second is a set of two USB-C ports capable of supplying up to 100 watts. However, the charging capacity drops to 65 watts when both ports are used simultaneously. The desk offers cable management on the underside to help maintain a neat and tidy look. The design of the base enables chairs to be used on all four sides of the table, making the Hermen Miller Spout better equipped for use in meeting rooms than most other height-adjustable desks.

Price and availability

Prices for the Herman Miller Spout Sit-to-Stand Table range from $2,400 to $3,400, depending on the size and tabletop material. For the tabletop, one white laminate and two real wood veneers are available as options, whilst the base comes in seven colours. Herman Miller hasn’t revealed any pricing and availability information for Europe.
