Husqvarna has introduced three new robot lawn mowers, none of which need boundary wires. In addition to the Automower 305E NERA and 405XE NERA models that are designed for smaller yards, there's also an improved version of the all-wheel-drive robot mower for difficult terrain, the Automower 435X AWD NERA.

Husqvarna is officially kicking off the 2025 season with the debut of two new robot lawn mowers and an upgraded model that will join its consumer-focused lineup. More specifically, the manufacturer has introduced the new Automower 405XE NERA and 305E NERA, as well as the improved NERA version of the Automower 435X AWD.

Husqvarna Automower 405XE NERA and 305E NERA

Husqvarna’s family of robot lawn mowers has just grown with the addition of the 405XE NERA and 305E NERA. Both models give users the choice to mow randomly or systematically. They can cover an area of 6,500 or 9,700 square feet, depending on the mowing pattern.

For guidance and navigation, both robots can either utilize a boundary wire or EPOS satellite technology. Users can choose between a GPS-RTK antenna or the Husqvarna Cloud. The latter is a new feature that simplifies installation but may not be as precise as using a physical reference station in your garden, according to the manufacturer.

Both new robot lawn mowers are made for smaller to medium-sized gardens, they can handle slopes of up to 30 percent and can adjust their cutting height between 0.8 and 2.2 inches. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the Automower 405XE NERA also sports cellular connectivity. It further comes with a radar sensor on the front of the device for obstacle detection, which is a feature that is missing in the Automower 305E NERA. Both mowers come with the EdgeCut feature that was introduced last year and allows nearly edgeless mowing.

In Europe, the MSRP for the Automower 405XE NERA starts at €2,199, while the Automower 305E NERA starts at €1,699 including 19% VAT. Both new robotic lawn mower models will be available soon, but are not yet listed in the company’s official US online store.

Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD NERA

The Automower 435X AWD NERA has also been updated and is now wireless. The robot is off-road capable as Husqvarna's all-wheel drive AWD robotic mower is included here, and the manufacturer claims the mower can handle slopes of up to 70 percent.

It is designed for areas up to 3,750 square feet with random mowing or 5,400 square feet with systematic mowing, but the latter will be added via software update this summer. In addition to Bluetooth and cellular connectivity, this helpful gardening gadget also features ultrasonic object detection and zone control. The European MSRP for the Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD NERA comes in at €5,999.
