The Philips 34B2U3600C is a new monitor aimed at users who are looking for a monitor for more general applications and not so much for gaming, but do not want to do without decent features. It is a VA monitor, which stands for vertical alignment (click here for more information about VA panels and how they differ from TN, IPS or OLED panels). The brightness is specified as 300 cd/m², while the panel is said to cover 104% of the NTSC color space and 120% of the sRGB color space. A gray-to-gray response time of 4 milliseconds and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz are advertised. Adaptive Sync is supported.
The model measures 34 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440, giving it a format of 21:9. The panel is curved with a radius of 1,500 millimeters. Image is input via HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4 or USB-C, whereby the refresh rate is limited to 100 Hz at native resolution via HDMI. The USB-C port also supports USB PD with an output of up to 90 watts, allowing laptops or mini PCs to be supplied with power. Furthermore, there is a USB hub in addition to a Gigabit Ethernet port and a KVM switch, of which the latter allows connected accessories to be switched directly to the selected image source. Two 5-watt speakers are available for audio playback. Lastly, the monitor can be adjusted in height, rotation and tilt.
