Signify has announced the new Philips Hue AI assistant. The feature will be available in the Hue app for users of the brand’s smart home products.
The AI assistant will enable you to generate smart lighting scenes to suit your mood or an occasion, such as a party or holiday. Users will be able to type or use voice prompts to create their personalized light effect. Plus, Signify indicates that there will be “feedback features” to enhance the tool over time. Based on this description, it appears that this tool will be similar to the Govee AI Lighting Bot seen on products like the Curtain Lights 2 (from $149.99 at Amazon).
Other features which will reach the Hue app this year include sound detection for smoke alarms, setting off alerts and triggered lighting, and the ability to view Secure camera video streams on compatible Amazon Echo and Google Nest hub devices. On top of this, iOS users will get a live camera view widget.
The Philips Hue AI assistant is expected to launch in the Hue app at some point this year. However, the company has yet to commit to a release date or indicate whether this will reach both iOS and Android users at the same time. In the most recent app update, users gained another customization option for the Scattered gradient lighting mode.
