Premium smart watches may boast of fall detection features, but the Kami Fall Detect camera does not need to be strapped to a wrist to work. It is the first consumer product that uses Vision AI for fall detection with 99% accuracy.
San José company Kami Vision is a smart home OEM focused on home security and senior care. The company has developed extensive fall detection systems for senior living facilities and is now bringing its expertise to private residences, allowing senior citizens to age in place. The Fall Detect camera recognizes falls when they occur and sends alerts to trusted relatives and health providers in real-time. Users can view the footage in QHD and communicate directly with their aged loved ones via the Kami Home app.

Details here
Kami Fall Detect can rotate 360° with an 87° field of vision. The camera offers live video with 4x zoom and 2.5k resolution. Coupled with the two-way communication and ability to dispatch emergency services, aging seniors may find it a very appealing replacement to wearable fall detectors like the much more expensive Google Pixel Watch or Apple smart watches. For less than $50, users get an AI-powered surveillance camera, although the fall detection features only kick in with a subscription to Kami Home.
Kami Home costs anywhere from $4.24 to $16.25 per month depending on the number of cameras supported and recording history. Compared to Fitbit's $9.99 premium per gadget to access Safety Signal, Kami Fall Detect may be the more attractive option for high fall risk individuals.
You can order the Kami Fall Detect camera for $49 on Amazon.
