The Keocam is a personal dashcam, or body camera, designed for regular citizens. It captures one-minute clips that are simultaneously backed up to both smartphone and cloud storage. The recordings help victims of assaults, threats, and hate crimes to track down criminals and prove their case.

Keotech has announced the Keocam personal dashcam at Mobile World Congress 2025. The dashcam, or body camera, provides video evidence of assaults, threats, and attacks to help track down and prosecute criminals. Keotech expects to release the Keocam by year-end with a price under $150, and a subscription fee is required for cloud storage of video evidence.

Dashcams for cars typically work by recording video in short segments, and when an accident occurs, the clip is locked and saved to provide evidence of what occurred. The Keocam operates on a similar principle by recording one minute clips to its internal storage, with a copy stored on the connected smartphone.

During an incident, a third copy is saved to cloud storage along with the ongoing video of the attack.  A list of emergency contacts is also notified of the attack with live GPS location and video links. This helps ensure the video evidence of an attack is never lost before it can be used to track down criminals.

The 70 gram (2.5 oz.) Keocam magnetically attaches to clothing. The camera uses a 160° lens to capture the view in front of the user for up to three hours. The personal dashcam is IP57-rated against dust and water intrusion and has an operating temperature of 0° C to 50° C.

Readers who are walking alone in dangerous places should consider a multi-layered defense strategy that includes pepper spray (like this one sold on Amazon) or a stun gun (like this one sold on Amazon).

Pioneering Personal Safety Device Combines Always-On Recording with Emergency Response Features

BARCELONA, Spain, March 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Keotech Ltd. today introduced Keocam, the world's first "personal dashcam" designed specifically for individual safety and security. The groundbreaking wearable device, which combines sophisticated recording capabilities with emergency response features, is being unveiled at the SmartCom booth: Hall 5 Stand 5B41.

The Keocam camera is your personal dashcam. It records in 60-seconds loops.

The small, lightweight body camera system works in partnership with a smartphone. This unique, patented system continuously records the user's environment in a one-minute loop, storing that loop on the camera and smartphone, so there are always two copies. In an emergency, it saves and uploads the previous and ongoing recordings to the user's secure cloud, ensuring the evidence is preserved and accessible. The device measures just 2.1 x 1.9 inches and features a high-strength magnetic mount.

Inspired by a personal experience in founder Brian Pemberton's family, Keocam represents a significant advancement in personal safety technology. The device provides a powerful tool to document threats and deter potential assaults through its innovative always-on recording functionality.

"With alarming statistics showing that 92% of female runners express safety concerns and only 20% of assault victims report incidents, we recognized an urgent need for technology that will deter crime before it happens. To do that, you need to offer an unnerving threat, the threat of being caught through irrefutable evidence," said Brian Pemberton, Founder & CEO of Keotech Ltd. "Keocam empowers users with peace of mind while creating a powerful deterrent against would-be attackers."

Revolutionary Safety Features

Keocam's patented and patent-pending technology introduces several industry-first capabilities:

Always-Recording Technology: Continuously captures 60-second video loops, ensuring crucial pre-incident context is never missed

Triple-Secure Storage: Automatically saves footage to the device and smartphone. During an emergency, a third copy is sent to the cloud

Tamper-Proof Power Button: Prevents attackers from disabling the device

Multi-Platform Activation: Emergency recording triggered via device button, smartphone app, or smartwatch

Instant Emergency Response: Automatically alerts designated contacts with video footage and precise location data

IP67-rated weather protection

3-Hour Battery Life

160° wide-angle camera

High-strength magnetic mount

Keocam will be available in Q4 2025 and come in black or white colors.

Addressing a Critical Market Need

Sexual assaults and hate crimes remain severely underreported globally, with evidence gaps significantly impacting conviction rates -- just 2.5% of perpetrators face imprisonment. Keocam addresses this critical need by providing irrefutable evidence that empowers victims while serving as a powerful deterrent.

"By combining always-on recording capabilities with tamper-proof operation and instant emergency notification, Keocam represents a breakthrough in personal security technology," added Pemberton.
