The Chinese dash cam manufacturer 70mai has launched the 4K Omni dash cam globally. 70mai advertised it as the first product of its kind that provides a 360° view of its surroundings, thanks to its 340° rotating design. The company’s new 4K Omni dash cam is equipped with a Sony IMX678 sensor based on Sony’s Starvis 2 technology with a 140° FOV. It’s rated to get a resolution of up to 4K/60 fps, which is touted to capture every detail with cinematic precision, even at high speed.
Alongside a 4K front camera, there’s a 1080p Sony IMX662 HDR rear camera with vertical and horizontal mirroring support, which also provides 360° seamless coverage. The 4K Omni is packed with a wide range of features, including live streaming for real-time remote monitoring, 24/7 time-lapse recording, loop recording, instant app alerts for collision notifications, and dual clear HDR for detail clarity in both dark and bright environments.
The new surveillance system is equipped with 70mai’s in-house Lumi-Vision, and the company claims that this technology ensures reliable footage even in near-total darkness. Plus, it also supports 70mai’s Night Owl Vision and Starvis 2 Night Vision, powered by up-to-date tech from Sony. According to 70mai, this Night Owl Vision technology enhances nighttime clarity with balanced exposure, reduced noise, and improved glare control.
The 4K Omni features a built-in GPS that enables several features, such as live route tracking and Find My Car. Furthermore, it comes with an ADAS system with identification for pedestrians and riders. Other features include smart voice control, AI motion detection 2.0, emergency video recording (10 seconds before and 20 seconds post-impact), and WiFi 6 connectivity for high-speed transfers up to 20 MB/s. In addition to the above, you can also control the dash cam via 70mai’s companion app.
The 4K Omni dash cam is now available on Amazon in the US for $329.99, with a limited-time discount of $33.
