Tusk x ShiftCam launch new Cinema // Series 15-piece mobile lens system for professional filmmaking
Tusk x ShiftCam have just announced the Cinema // Series, a commercial-grade mobile lens and filter system specifically for high-quality mobile filmmaking. The system is intended for use with select Netflix-approved smartphones, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The Cinema // Series features lenses built from fluorite crystal optics, with each lens comprising up to seven elements. These lenses also have multi-layer coatings to minimize distortion and maximize clarity. The aluminum housing of each lens is made from premium recycled aerospace-grade material so as to maintain durability while remaining lightweight and portable. According to the company, the lenses are ten times smaller and lighter than traditional cinema lenses.
This series introduces a "Quick-Mount" attachment system, which lets users quickly change lenses using the included S-Mount attachment compatible with select iPhone models (iPhone 14 Pro through iPhone 16 Pro Max). Additionally, the system includes a magnetic filter adapter, allowing users to attach filters rapidly. This 72mm adapter is compatible with five of the larger lenses and supports filter stacking as well.
The Cinema // Series features seven distinct professional lenses, including two anamorphic lenses (18mm and 15mm), macro lenses (25mm Macro 10x and 75mm Long Range Macro), a wide-angle lens (16mm), a 60mm telephoto lens, and additional cinematic effects lenses. Accompanying these lenses, the system includes eight magnetic filters such as Circular Polarizer, Black Mist, various Neutral Density filters, and a Variable ND filter that ranges from 6-9 stops.
Compatibility for these lenses spans multiple models of recent Apple smartphones, notably including the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 series. Both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max have already received Netflix approval for professional content production.
