The latest flagship TV from TP Vision utilizes a brand-new tandem OLED panel from LG Display, which will also be found in the LG G5 OLED and Panasonic Z95B. Unlike LG and Panasonic, the company has already provided exact technical specifications concerning the all-important brightness. The Philips OLED+950 supposedly hits up to 3,700 nits in HDR mode, while its full-screen brightness will be limited to 350 nits.
For reference, the LG OLED G4’s MLA-OLED panel from the 2024 model year achieves a peak brightness of 1,550 nits and a full-screen brightness of 224 nits according to Rtings. However, it should be noted that during real-world usage, even this latest OLED TV will probably have lower brightness levels than the advertised marketing numbers.
The new panel is also said to have some advantages regarding its color reproduction. In addition to a 99.5% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, TP Vision also claims that the Philips OLED+950 can display 83% of the BT.2020 color space. Meanwhile, the improved anti-reflective coating should prevent almost all distracting reflections.
Thanks to better efficiency, the new tandem OLED panel consumes 20% less power compared to the last-gen model. Moreover, the new AI processor is supposed to improve contrast and thereby the HDR performance. Philips’ gaming mode can automatically recognize the genre of games and optimize the picture settings accordingly, and users can create and save profiles for specific games. The Smart TV can even enlarge the in-game mini-map and display it in a different spot on the screen. Last but not least, the Philips OLED+950 smart TV has an integrated 2.1-channel sound system with 70 watts, which includes a subwoofer with four passive radiators for more powerful bass.
