Nvidia brings new features to Shield TV and Shield TV Pro with over a dozen bug fixes also offered

Nvidia has started pushing a major Shield TV update to all Shield TV and TV Pro models, which it is issuing as Shield Experience 9.2 globally. For context, while the most recent Shield TV Pro (curr. $179.99 on Amazon) is older than many alternatives, its Tegra X1+ SoC and 4K/60 FPS support mean that it outperforms many newer Android alternatives.

The Shield Experience 9.2 is said to improve the user experience in several areas, not least via dozens of bug fixes that we have reproduced below. For instance, Nvidia remarks that the new update resolves an issue that could cause choppy video playback to ensue after pressing FFWD/RWD. Also, Shield TV products should only wake from the lock screen when a button is pressed.

The new update contains various enhancements too, including a match Frame Rate enhancement feature and refined match audio content resolution when a Shield TV or Shield TV Pro is paired with a USB DAC. On top of that, Shield Experience 9.2 enables AURO-3D decoder support over HDMI. Please note that Google Home integration must be re-enabled after upgrading to Shield Experience 9.2.
