The Epson EH-QS100W and EH-QS100B home theater projectors are now available in Europe. The two models, one white and one black were revealed in December. The company describes them as premium 4K PRO-UHD super-short-throw laser projectors.
The EH-QS100 has a 3LCD laser light source that is said to run for up to 20,000 hours, producing up to 4,500 lumens brightness. That makes it brighter than the popular EH-LS12000, which only delivers up to 2,700 ISO lumens brightness, according to Epson. Another upgrade compared to this older model is the throw ratio, reduced from 1.35 - 2.84:1 to 0.16 - 0.22:1.
The maximum recommended image size for the EH-QS100 is 160 inches (406 cm), the native contrast ratio is 1,800:1, and there is support for HDR10 and HLG. The projector comes with basic image-perfecting tools, like Epson’s Quick Corner for screen fit. Other features include three HDMI inputs, all compatible with HDCP 2.3 and one with ARC support, and built-in 16W stereo speakers.
Reports suggest that the official RRP of the Epson EH-Qs100 projectors in the UK is £4,500. You can now buy the Epson EH-QS100W and EH-QS100B projectors via third-party retailers like HomeCineSolutions. Based in France, they will ship the model worldwide for €5,290/$5,513/£4,437. However, it is worth noting that the product page states that it is “Available on order” and will arrive in approximately 10 days.
