TCL has teased the PlayCube, a new portable projector. The upcoming product was shown towards the end of a talk at CES 2025, with the company noting that it wanted to provide portable theater solutions.
As its name suggests, the PlayCube is the shape of a box. However, it has an unusual twistable design, which appears to allow you to adjust the projection angle. TCL describes the model as compact, though its measurements have not been confirmed; rumors suggest that it is small enough to fit on a nightstand. The projector is said to offer Google TV, which would allow users to stream content from a wide range of apps. Plus, the built-in battery makes it a truly portable projector.
Further details, such as the resolution, peak brightness and maximum recommended image size, have yet to be confirmed. It also remains to be seen when the TCL PlayCube will launch and how much it will cost. TCL’s A1 projector, a 1080p model with Google TV, is currently available at Amazon for $499.99. TCL is also showing some of its 2025 TVs at CES 2025, including the new QM6K Mini LED TV, which is already available to pre-order in the US.
