With CES 2025 just around the corner, LG Electronics is expanding its projector lineup with the announcement of two new models: the PF600U and PU615U. Both models focus on a compact design and an adaptable functionality, and can seemingly cater to various home and lifestyle requirements.
The PF600U is particularly interesting. It's a multifunctional device that combines a projector, Bluetooth speaker, and LED mood lamp into one package. It supports FHD resolution (1920 x 1080) with 300 ANSI lumens brightness and a contrast ratio of 150,000:1. The device projects images between 30 and 120 inches and has a throw ratio of 1.2:1. It uses an LED light source (RGBB) with up to 20,000 hours of claimed operation time. The LED mood lamp includes nine color options and five brightness levels. Audio is supported by stereo speakers with two passive radiators for high-quality sound. Additional features include Auto Screen Adjustment for simplified setup and HDR/HLG support for improved visuals. Connectivity includes HDMI and USB Type-C, while Android and iOS compatibility should be great for wireless control.
The PU615U, or the CineBeam S - LG’s smallest 4K Ultra Short Throw (UST) projector - delivers 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160) with 500 ANSI lumens brightness and a contrast ratio of 450,000:1. It can project images from 40 to 100 inches with a 0.25:1 throw ratio, which means it requires minimal wall clearance. This model uses a laser light source (RGB) with up to 20,000 hours of durability, as LG claims. It also features Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo sound and includes Auto Screen Adjustment for precise image alignment. Connectivity options are similar to the PF600U, with HDMI, USB Type-C, and wireless compatibility with Android and iOS.
Both projectors operate on webOS for access to streaming services, and support HDR/HLG formats. The PF600U weighs 7.5 kg and measures 290 x 290 x 983 mm, while the PU615U is more compact, weighing 2.5 kg with dimensions of 110 x 160 x 160 mm. The two models are set to be showcased at CES 2025.
