The new LG UltraFine 6K Monitor has been named a CES 2025 awards honoree in the Imaging category. As such, the product is on show at the event, which started on January 7th.
LG claims that the UltraFine 6K Monitor, with model number 32U990A, is the first of its kind to offer Thunderbolt 5. Compared to Thunderbolt, this should increase the bandwidth from 40 Gbps to 80 Gbps, with 120 Gbps Bandwidth Boost. This 32-inch professional monitor uses a Nano IPS Black panel, typically covering 99.5% of Adobe RGB and 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamuts. Other features, including the native refresh rate, have yet to be announced.
The model is expected to have a 2,000:1 contrast ratio and a 6,016 x 3,384 px resolution. On top of this, there is said to be support for color calibration software. LG describes the model as slim, with a wide stand and rounded base; it is somewhat similar in appearance to the Apple Pro Display XDR (curr. $5,999.99 without a stand at Best Buy). Precisely when the LG UltraFine 6K Monitor will launch and at what price remains to be seen. As the UltraFine 6K appears to lack a Mini-LED backlight, and given its other features, it is thought that it will be cheaper than this Apple model.
