LG has finally revealed early details about the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A, roughly a month after the same monitor was spotted passing through the National Radio Research Agency in South Korea. Surprisingly, the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A is not the only 45-inch OLED gaming monitor that LG will be launching soon. Instead, it has confirmed that the UltraGear OLED 45GX990A is almost upon us too.
In short, the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A will replace the UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE (curr. $996.99 on Amazon), which debuted during CES 2024 before being released a couple of months later. In summary, the UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE outputs at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels in a 21:9 aspect ratio with a 240 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the monitor contained DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type-A and USB Type-B ports.
By contrast, LG has confirmed that the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A will run natively at 5,120 x 2,160 (5K2K) while maintaining a 21:9 aspect ratio and 0.03 ms GtG response times. Although the monitor's refresh rate remains unknown at this stage, LG adds that the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A also offers DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, as well as a USB Type-C port that supports 90 W Power Delivery.
Moreover, the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A will showcase LG's 'second-generation Dual-Mode', which provides customisable picture size and aspect ratio combinations on command. On top of that, the new monitor has an RGWB subpixel layout, an Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating and a variable refresh rate (VRR) for use with modern consoles and high-end gaming PCs. LG will reveal more details about the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A next week during CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
