Samsung has joined Asus and MSI in unveiling new QD-OLED monitors on the eve of CES 2025. However, the company has decided to confirm all the new monitors that it plans to showcase at this year's Las Vegas-based conference, unlike its peers.
Arguably, the Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF and Odyssey OLED G8 G81SF will be seen as two highlights thanks to their usage of new Gen 4 QD-OLED panels. Both 27-inch monitors, the G60SF and G81SF diverge in terms of their native resolutions and refresh rates.
On the one hand, the Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF directly replaces the G60SD (curr. $699.45 on Amazon), which combines a 1440p resolution with a 360 Hz refresh rate. By contrast, the G60SF can run at up to 500 Hz, albeit while maintaining a 1440p resolution. Unsurprisingly, the G60SF will also support variable refresh rate (VRR) technology plus AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-SYNC to mitigate image tearing.
On the other hand, the G81SF is one of the first 27-inch QD-OLED monitors to reach 4K. As a result, the monitor has a 166 PPI pixel density, which it complements with a 240 Hz refresh rate, VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-SYNC.
Meanwhile, Samsung has also confirmed that it will be exhibiting the Smart Monitor M9 M90SF at CES 2025. According to its Korean-language press release, the M90SF utilises Tizen OS to provide Smart TV functionality across its 32-inch, OLED, 4K and 165 Hz panel.
Moreover, the Odyssey 3D G90XF will make an appearance too as a glasses-free 3D gaming monitor with a 27-inch and 4K IPS panel. Finally, the company has detailed the Viewfinity S8 S80UD, which is the largest of the five monitors at 37-inches. Firmly a monitor for work, the S80UD delivers a 4K native resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a USB hub that supports 90 W charging too. Presumably, Samsung will reveal full details about all these monitors early next week, including pricing and availability.
