A few months have passed since Asus released the first ROG Strix XG27UCG as its first dual-mode IPS gaming monitor (curr. $499.99 on Amazon). While competitors have introduced numerous gaming monitors since, Asus was the first to offer up a comparable 32-inch counterpart called the ROG Strix XG32UCG.
Now, MSI appears to have introduced its alternative, albeit only in China so far. At any rate, the MAG 321CUPDF outputs natively at 4K and 160 Hz. However, dropping its resolution to 1080p allows the monitor to up its refresh rate to 320 Hz. Additionally, the MAG 321CUPDF boasts 0.5 ms GtG response times and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio by virtue of relying upon VA panel technology.

Moreover, the monitor delivers 93% Adobe RGB colour space coverage, 350 nits SDR peak brightness and 400 nits HDR peak brightness, for which it is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. Meanwhile, MSI has equipped the MAG 321CUPDF with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4a connection and a USB Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode but only 15 W Power Delivery.
For reference, Asus should be sharing new details about the ROG Strix XG32UCG next month during CES 2025. By contrast, MSI has already listed the MAG 321CUPDF in China for CNY 2,999 (~$413). Unfortunately, there is no word yet on global availability.
