MSI has unveiled a new gaming monitor globally, which it describes as featuring 'a stunning silver-white design'. In the same press release, the company goes on to describe the monitor in the following terms:
Designed for gamers who value both exceptional performance and aesthetic elegance, this 32-inch display effortlessly combines power and style. It's an ideal choice for high-end white custom PCs or the PS5, setting a new benchmark for premium gaming setups. This monitor is truly a masterpiece of design and performance, created for those who appreciate both cutting-edge technology and aesthetic excellence.
While MSI does not acknowledge as much in its press release, the MPG 321URXW actually debuted last month in China. Additionally, it is merely a refresh of the MPG 321URX (curr. $924.99 on Amazon) that it has been selling throughout this year. As a result, the MPG 321URXW adopts a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display that combines a 4K resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate.
However, the monitor must use Display Stream Compression (DSC) to reach 4K and 240 Hz, unlike the MPG 322URX that MSI showcased in China earlier this month. With that being said, no consumer graphics card supports DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20. In other words, the MPG 322URX will require DSC to show 4K/240 Hz footage for the time being, just like the MPG 321URXW.
Moreover, the MPG 321URXW offers 0.03 ms GtG response times, 250 nits SDR and 1,000 nits HDR peak brightnesses, as well as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to reudce image tearing. Ultimately, only the white casing separates the MPG 321URXW from the MPG 321URX. Nonetheless, MSI has decided to charge $1,099 for the MPG 321URXW, which makes it $150 more expensive than the MPG 321URX at MSRP.
