Eizo has unveiled the FlexScan FLT, a sustainable 23.8-inch monitor. The company claims that it is the first monitor in the world to achieve a Class A energy efficient rating by European standards.
The display’s Future-Leading Technology (FLT) means that the average power consumption is just 6W. For comparison, even with various energy-saving features, the 24-inch Dell SE2422HX Monitor (curr. $144.22 at Amazon) typically consumes 16W. Eizo suggests that the combination of the power-saving panel and other energy-saving features, like the Eco Mode preset, boost efficiency. On top of this, a power consumption indicator allows you to track your energy usage.
The FlexScan FLT is a 1080p model using an IPS panel with an LED backlight. The display offers a 93ppi pixel density, 250 cd/m² brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms g2g response time. The monitor is powered via USB-C and does not require a power adapter. Plus, there are two further USB-C ports to connect to your laptop and other devices. This is a 2.4 kg (~5.3 lbs) model, with a slim 24.4 mm (~0.96 inches) bezel, and the adjustable arm allows you to tailor the monitor’s position to your workspace. The Eizo FlexScan FLT will ship this December, though the pricing has yet to be announced. The company has not provided a list of countries in which the monitor will launch.
