CES 2025 | Packed with Nvidia RTX 5000 GPU: MSI introduces the new Raider 18 HX AI laptop
Along with new additions to the Titan, Stealth, Vector, and Raider families, this year, MSI has also introduced AI variants of gaming laptops. The AI-powered laptops unveiled by the company include the Titan 18 HX AI, Raider 18 HX AI, Stealth 18 HX AI, Stealth A18 AI+, Vector 17 HX AI, Vector 16 HX AI, and Stealth A16 AI+.
The Raider 18 HX AI sports an 18-inch Mini-LED display with a UHD+ resolution (3840 x 2400 pixels). The display also offers a fast 120Hz refresh rate, which makes it suitable for gaming. And with VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and near-perfect (~100%) DCI-P3 colour accuracy, users can expect stunning visuals.
Under the hood, buyers can go for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU with 24GB GDDR7 or the RTX 5080 GPU with 16GB GDDR7, both of which offer AI-driven functionality and enhanced graphics capabilities. Further, buyers can choose between Intel Core Ultra 285HX or AMD Ryzen 9955HX3D processors, depending on their preference.

As mentioned, the Raider 18 HX AI is an AI-enabled laptop, and it comes with a whole suite of AI features, like the AI Robot app. This AI assistant has been created in partnership with Nvidia and uses a local small language model (SLM). Users can control their laptops with text commands and make use of other AI tools like AI Noise Cancellation Pro and the AI Engine.
At the time of writing, MSI has not given any idea of the Raider 18 HX AI’s price. However, taking into account that the laptop features the latest components, we are not expecting it to be too budget-friendly.
