Lenovo has updated the Legion Pro series with 10th generation versions of the Legion Pro 5 and Legion Pro 5i as part of today's CES 2025 showcase. For reference, the pair have joined the Legion Pro 7i at this year's Las Vegas-based trade show, launch details for which we have covered separately.
As for the Legion Pro 5 and Pro 5i themselves, they primarily differ in terms of their CPUs and GPUs. For instance, Lenovo equips both models with 80 Wh batteries and 16-inch OLED displays that output at 165 Hz with a 2.5K native resolution and 500 nits peak brightness. Please note that the company may well offer less expensive display options for both models, though.
At any rate, Lenovo also describes both machines supporting up to 32 GB of DDR5-6400 RAM running in dual channel mode and 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage split across a pair of 1 TB drives. Meanwhile, the Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 and Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 will ship with keyboards that provide 1.6 mm of key travel and optional 24-zone RGB lighting.
However, Lenovo equips the Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX APU and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU (8 GB GDDR6) that peaks at 115 W. By contrast, the Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 will be available with the more powerful GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12 GB GDDR7/140 W) and up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX. In short, the new Legion Pro 5i should be significantly more powerful than its Gen 9 predecessor (curr. $2,199.99 on Amazon).
The Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 should be available in May, a month earlier than its AMD-powered sibling. With that being said, the former carries a $100 higher MSRP starting at $1,499. Unfortunately, Lenovo has not shared full pricing and availability for either device yet.
