Asus has launched various new devices today at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. As part of today's showcase, it has also updated the Vivobook series with a slew of new options. For context, only a few months have passed since Asus introduced Intel Lunar Lake-powered options at IFA 2024 in Berlin, including the Vivobook S 14 (curr. $909.99 on Amazon).
On the one hand, Asus has brought new Vivobook S models to this year's Consumer Electronics Show based on AMD Kracken Point and Intel Arrow Lake processors. On the other hand, it has also updated the Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16 with a choice between AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors.
Unfortunately, Asus has not revealed which Qualcomm Snapdragon X series chipsets will be available. However, we suspect these are unreleased parts rather than existing options from Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite portfolios. By contrast, AMD configurations will be sold with Ryzen AI 5 340 or Ryzen AI 7 350 APUs.
Incidentally, Qualcomm SKUs also feature faster LPDDR5X RAM and larger 50 Wh batteries than their AMD counterparts. Conversely, all models contain a pair of USB 4 ports, as well as 3.5 mm jack, HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A connections. Likewise, all new Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16 laptops utilise 1200p, 16:10 and 60 Hz IPS displays.
According to Asus, Qualcomm versions of the Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16 will be available later this month. In comparison, their AMD counterparts will not be ready until March. For reference, Asus has priced the new laptops as follows:
- Vivobook 14 X1407QA - $699.99 (Snapdragon X)
- Vivobook 16 X1607QA - $749.99 (Snapdragon X)
- Vivobook 14 M1407QA - $799.99 (Ryzen AI 7 350)
- Vivobook 16 M1607KA - $749.99 (Ryzen AI 5 340)
- Vivobook 16 M1607KA - $849.99 (Ryzen AI 7 350)
