The Asus Vivobook S 14 (S5406) is back on sale at its lowest price ever after a meaty 33% discount at Staples. The laptop comes equipped with a Core Ultra 7 258V APU, 32 GB of memory, and 1 TB of storage. A 1200p OLED panel graces the front of the device.

We reported late last month that the Asus Vivobook S 14 (S5406) was on sale for just $799 at Walmart. With an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V APU, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage under the hood, this was the lowest-ever price for the laptop. The machine has now dropped down again to this record-low at Staples.

So, users who want a portable notebook can now get the Vivobook S 14 (S5406) for only $800 at Staples, a discount of 33% or $400 on the $1,200 list price.

Asus Vivobook S 14: OLED panel, long runtimes, and solid inputs

The Asus Vivobook S 14 has all the hardware that any average user would want from a modern Windows laptop.

For starters, the laptop features a slim and lightweight metal chassis with a comfortable keyboard with 1.7 mm of travel and a large touchpad. The chassis also incorporates a diverse port selection of Thunderbolt 4, Type-A, microSD, HDMI, and a 3.5 mm jack.

Around the front, the notebook features a 1200p OLED panel which, while not the sharpest or the smoothest, delivers excellent colors with 100% DCI-P3, infinite contrast, and up to 600 nits of HDR brightness. There is also a 1080p webcam that supports Windows Hello facial recognition.

Courtesy of the Core Ultra 7 258V APU and a respectable 75 Wh battery, the Asus Vivobook S 14 (S5406) is plenty fast for routine tasks and lasts a long time on a single charge. The notebook delivered a Wi-Fi websurfing runtime of over 17 hours at 150 nits in our testing. At max brightness, the laptop still lasted around 11 hours.

Long story short, folks who don’t want to spend a ton of cash on high-end machines like the Asus Zenbooks but still want some of the features of those machines will find much to love in the Asus Vivobook S 14 OLED.
