The Asus Vivobook S 14 (Q423SA) powered by the Lunar Lake Core Ultra 5 226V has repeatedly gone on sale in the past months. Thanks to the repeatedly discounted price of $650 to $599, buyers had many opportunities to snag one of the best value machines on the market for some pretty good prices.
However, folks who were holding out in the hopes of an even lower price are now in luck, as Best Buy is now selling the Vivobook S 14 at a new record-low of just $549.99. The new price represents savings of 42% or $400 over the list price.
Asus Vivobook S 14 is a perfect fit for everyday use
Courtesy of the Core Ultra 5 226V and a mid-sized 75 Wh battery, Asus has been able to make the Vivobook S 14 portable, plenty fast for day-to-day usage, and long-lasting. As such, the laptop enjoys a slim case, weighs only 1.3 kg (2.87 lbs), and can last all day on a single charge as shown by our review of a sister model, the Vivobook S 14 (S5406SA).
The Asus Vivobook S 14 also gets an OLED display with its infinite contrast and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The laptop can also shoot 600 nits of brightness in HDR. So, the 14-inch OLED panel is more than capable for multimedia use.
Additionally, the Asus Vivobook S 14 (Q423SA)’s port selection covers all the bases with:
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports
- An HDMI 2.1 out
- One microSD slot
- A 3.5 mm audio jack
- Two Type-A ports
The only real weaknesses of the Asus Vivobook S 14 which might be a deal breaker for people are the limited refresh rate of 60 Hz, the non-expandable 16 GB of RAM, and only 512 GB of storage inside the model on sale. The last issue, however, can be resolved through a bigger SSD, as the laptop features removable storage.
All in all, the Asus Vivobook S 14 is an incredible deal for just $550 when we consider the hardware on offer.
