Ridiculously fun tactical online co-op shooter hits Steam charts with "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews

After years in early access, Door Kickers 2: Task Force North has finally launched its full version on Steam, quickly climbing the charts with "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews from over 7,900 players. Developed by KillHouse Games, this real-time tactics game has elements of intense strategic planning and fast-paced action, both key ingredients for a successful game.

Originally revealed in 2016, Door Kickers 2 faced several delays before entering early access on November 3, 2020. Now, after years of refinement, the game officially released on February 10, 2025. The sequel shifts focus from police SWAT units to military Special Operations. Players are placed in command of elite forces like the U.S. Army Rangers, CIA Special Activities Division, and Nowheraki SWAT in a fictional Middle Eastern setting.

Gameplay basically centers around real-time tactical combat with the ability to pause and issue commands. Players can breach doors, neutralize threats, and rescue hostages across non-linear maps with destructible environments, which is another solid aspect of the game. Door Kickers 2 comes with two campaign modes: basic operations and procedurally generated Tours of Duty, with the added challenge of Iron Man mode, where fallen squad members are gone for good.

Door Kickers 2 supports online co-op for up to four players, letting friends strategize together for complex missions. The game also boasts full modding support through the Steam Workshop, featuring over 7,000 custom missions, alongside a custom mission and level editor. Furthermore, the game is Steam Deck-approved with custom touchscreen controls. Despite its depth, Door Kickers 2 has modest system requirements, running smoothly with just 4GB of RAM and integrated graphics.

Currently priced at $22.49 with a 10% launch discount, Door Kickers 2 is embellished with a host of "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews - especially commending its replayability, tactical depth, and satisfying combat mechanics.
