Green Hell is an open-world survival game set deep in the uncharted Amazon jungle. Players step into the shoes of anthropologist Jake Higgins, who is searching for his missing wife, Mia. Survival requires real-life techniques – crafting tools, finding food, fending off threats and gathering resources. From basic shelters to elaborate fortresses, players can build whatever they need to endure the jungle’s harsh conditions.

Beyond natural threats like wild animals and disease, players must also contend with hostile native tribes. Direct combat is risky, as injuries can lead to serious infections, making strategy and avoidance key to survival. Green Hell stands out for its realism, with detailed depictions of illness, wounds and psychological strain. Hallucinogenic plants play a unique role, triggering spiritual visions that drive the story forward. However, they also impair the senses, adding an unpredictable twist to the experience.

Green Hell offers both single-player and co-op modes, allowing players to tackle the jungle’s challenges alone or with friends. The main story provides around 25 hours of gameplay, while the free prequel campaign, Spirits of Amazonia, adds another 20.
