Epic Games Store: New surprise free game giveaway is a $49.99 multiplayer AAA title, but only for a limited time

The Epic Games Store updates its free game every week, when it reveals one new game for next week's giveaway to keep gamers on their toes. This time, however, Epic Games is giving away another surprise title alongside this week's scheduled giveaway. A $49.99 multiplayer strategy game - Humankind - is now free to claim, but only until 13th February, 2025. 

Humankind, developed by Amplitude Studios and published by SEGA, is a historical turn-based strategy game where players can get to rewrite the course of human history. The game allows players to combine up to 60 historical cultures from the Ancient to the Modern Age. Doing so, they can create unique civilizations with distinct traits and gameplay elements. Humankind offers a rich strategy experience for both solo and multiplayer sessions with tactical battles on land, sea, and air, along with extensive city-building mechanics.

Critically, Humankind holds a Metascore of 77, which indicates generally favorable reviews. Its Steam reviews are mixed, with over 20,000 reviews reflecting fairly diverse opinions about its gameplay mechanics and content depth. 

To run Humankind on PC, the minimum system requirements include Windows 7 64-bit, an Intel i5 4th generation or AMD FX-8300 processor, 8 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon R9 290 graphics card. However, if you're looking to enjoy the game fully, the recommended specs are a Windows 10 64-bit OS, an Intel i5 6th generation or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, 8 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 5500-XT.
