Epic Games Store is currently giving away Undying, which is a well-rated indie title worth $19.99. It will be available to claim until February 6, and after that, the storefront will refresh its free game selection. An adventure title with a good rating will replace it.
To be specific, Epic Games Store has revealed that Beyond Blue will become free-to-claim from February 06 to February 13, 2025. This soon-to-be free game is also worth $19.99, and it has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam with over 900 player reviews.
As for the game itself, developed by E-Line Media, Beyond Blue is a narrative-driven title that's inspired by BBC's acclaimed documentary series Blue Planet II. It lets players play as Dr. Mirai Soto, a marine biologist, and explore the mysteries of the ocean.
Unlike some of the other adventure games, this soon-to-be free game on Epic Games Store focuses on educational elements. It has 16 mini-sized documentaries titled Ocean Insights. These offer a deeper understanding of the marine biology and environmental issues.
Of course, given that there's a heavy emphasis on ecological awareness, Beyond Blue is often regarded as a swimming simulator. However, the game's visuals aim to accurately depict the marine environment, and the unique blend of exploration and storytelling does make it worth trying.
Another thing to note is that this upcoming Epic Games Store free game has a short playtime. More precisely, it'll take around three hours to finish, and the limited range of activities makes Beyond Blue a less replayable title than some of the other adventure games.
