A new simulation game on Steam lets players step into the role of a miner building a complex sand-processing factory. The challenge lies in managing the realistic flow of sand, which must be transported efficiently. The community response has been overwhelmingly positive, with glowing reviews and a top spot in Steam’s "Trending Free" charts.

Sandustry features charming 2.5D pixel graphics and lets players build a sand-processing factory that evolves into a highly complex, automated production plant. It all starts with simple tools to mine sand and other raw materials. The fully destructible environment allows players to shape the world as they see fit. With dynamic physics, sand follows gravity and must be carefully redirected through smart planning.

Automation is at the heart of the game. As you progress, you integrate conveyor belts, pumps and machines to streamline production and boost efficiency. A well-organized network is key, poor planning can significantly slow down progress.

Exploring a past civilization

Sandustry is more than just factory building. As players dig deeper, they uncover ancient ruins and relics from a lost civilization. These hold secrets, valuable resources and rare technologies waiting to be deciphered. However, the depths also hide dangers, hostile creatures, intense boss battles and challenging puzzles.

Demo with very good ratings

Sandustry is developed by Lantto Games. The demo has been available on Steam since January 31 and currently holds a 96% positive rating, though from just 26 reviews. It offers a first look at the game’s sand physics and automation, letting players test basic processing mechanics on a limited map and solve early puzzles. As a result, the demo has claimed the top spot in Steam’s "Trending Free" charts. There’s no word yet on when the full release will arrive.
