No Man's Sky celebrates massive new update with Steam Sale
From a disastrous launch to an hour-long viral video essay with nearly 25 million views about its "Engoodening," No Man's Sky has taken its fair share of bricks and bouquets since a rocky 2016. With the latest Worlds Part II update, it's safe to say the launch is all but forgotten.
The new update adds billions of new solar systems and planets to explore, with tons of biomes, terrains, and creatures to discover. Nearly every aspect of the game's flora and fauna has improved with the update - oceans are now several kilometers deep, there is a greater variety of mountains, the game's lighting engine has been completely rewritten to enable immersive contrast between light and shadows, oceans now reflect clouds and other surfaces, and much more.
