No Man's Sky gets spaceship editor, brand new space stations and graphics upgrades in Orbital Update
Hello Games has just released the latest update for No Man's Sky, bringing with it a number of long-awaited new features. First and foremost, spaceships can now be disassembled into their individual parts - perfect for cannibalizing abandoned ships found on a planet without having to repair and place them in your own hangar.
The components obtained in the process can then be used to upgrade your own spaceships or to construct completely new ships, with the shield strength, speed and available cargo space being determined by the components selected. The second significant innovation concerns space stations, which now look different depending on which species they belong to, while various stations of the same species should also differ from one another.
Decorative objects that were previously only found in space stations can now be constructed for use in your own freighters or planetary bases. Players who complete missions for a species and thus improve their reputation will receive better prices from traders after the update. The Orbital Update introduces new quests that players can receive from fleets.
Hello Games has also revamped the game's lighting, making reflective objects in particular look more realistic than before. Lastly, the developers have revised the game's previously somewhat confusing menus so that new players should find it easier to navigate and understand the difference between certain game modes.
