As every week, gamers can get free games in the Epic Games Store. Until March 28, Call of the Wild: The Angler, which normally costs 30 $, and Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, which is on offer for around 10 $, are available for free.
Call of the Wild: The Angler
Call of the Wild: The Angler is a fishing simulation developed by Expansive Worlds - the creators of the popular hunting simulation "theHunter: Call of the Wild" - and was released in August 2022. The Angler invites players to explore a vibrant open world of lush forests, tranquil lakes and raging rivers, and to learn and practice various fishing techniques.
Players can spin fish, fly fish, bottom fish or vertical fish and catch a variety of different fish species from small perch to large catfish. Various fishing routes, lures and boats are available for this. With realistic physics, The Angler aims to bring an authentic fishing experience into the living room. In cooperative multiplayer mode, players can also experience the joys of fishing together.
On Steam, the recently published reviews show a positive average rating of 83 percent with 72 ratings. Overall, however, the reviews are rather mixed at 60 percent out of around 4,600 ratings.
Invincible Presents: Atom Eve
Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is an adventure and visual novel game based on the popular Invincible comic series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. The game was developed by Terrible Posture Games and published in November 2023 by Skybound Games - the company behind Invincible and The Walking Dead. The average rating on Steam is very positive: 95 percent with 209 reviews.
Players take on the role of superhero Atom Eve and try to master her life with all its facets. Decisions must be made that not only influence Eve's relationships with family and friends, but also define what kind of hero she will be.
The focus of the game is on the novel narrative. But there is also fighting. Using an extensive skill tree, players can adapt Atom Eve's powers to their desired play style and strategy and take on new opponents and familiar characters from the comics in turn-based battles, where it is important to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents and use Eve's skills accordingly.
