Obsidian's 'The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition' RPG free for a short time
As reliable leaker billbil-kun reports on Dealabs, the Windows version of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition will be free on the Epic Games Store from April 4 until April 11. Those who regularly grab free games from the Epic Games Store may already have the game in their library, as the title was already offered for free for one day on December 25, 2023.
As usual, both a free Epic Games account and the Epic Games Launcher are required to download the game. The Outer Worlds was originally released on October 25, 2019, and largely impressed critics with a Metascore of 85 out of a possible 100 points. The Outer Worlds is a role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment, the developers of Pentiment and South Park: The Stick of Truth. The game sees the player confronted with an alternative future in which capitalism reigns supreme and large corporations have immense influence on people's lives.
There are several planets to explore, quests to complete, monsters to fight and puzzles to solve. Although the game world is not as large or open as No Man's Sky, for example, it is handcrafted and features a campaign lasting around 35 hours, which is memorable for its sometimes quirky humor and multiple possible endings. The Spacer's Choice Edition includes the two expansions Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos as well as a series of graphical improvements, NPC upgrades, faster loading times and a higher maximum level for the player.
