MagyarPlayStation Plus: Three new games in April, including two highlights
In March sony added 17 new games to the PlayStation Plus subscription. It remains to be seen how many games will be added in April. As Sony announced on the PlayStation blog, three more games will be added to the gaming subscription at the beginning of April - and they are quite impressive. Immortals of Aveum and Minecraft Legends, which were only released in 2023, are likely to be particularly interesting. For Rouglike fans, however, Skul: The Hero Slayer is also worth a look.
Immortals of Aveum (PS4, PS5)
Developed by Ascendant Studios and published by Electronic Arts, Immortals of Aveum was only released on August 22, 2023 and still costs the full price of around 80 $. It is a first-person shooter in which you use magic rather than weapons. The game tells the story of Jak - a thief who unexpectedly becomes the defender of the last free kingdom of Aveum, for which he must master all three types of magic - red, blue and green. Players choose from a repertoire of around 25 spells and can specialize their skills through an extensive talent tree comprising over 80 nodes. Critics rate the game with a metascore of 69.
Minecraft Legends (PS4, PS5)
Minecraft Legends is a real-time action strategy game developed by Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive and published by Xbox Game Studios. In the spin-off of the popular sandbox game Minecraft, players defend the overworld against destruction by Piglins from the Nether. They collect resources, build fortifications and lead armies to establish and defend strategically superior positions against enemies and ensure the survival of the inhabitants of the upper world.
Released on April 18, 2023, the game is still comparatively young and has a metascore of 71, but players rate Minecraft Legends significantly lower with a user score of 4.8. Points of criticism include frequent gameplay repetitions and a lack of strategic depth. Nevertheless, some players should be happy to see Minecraft Legends, which currently costs around 40 $, in the PS Plus subscription.
Skul: The Hero Slayer (PS4)
Skul: The Hero Slayer is a 2D platformer with rogue-like elements and a refreshing distribution of roles. In this game, demons are the good guys and humans are the bad guys. Players take on the role of Skul - a small skeleton who has the task of freeing the kingdom of demons from oppression by humans. Skul can change his abilities by collecting different skulls that give him unique powers. Players navigate through randomly generated levels, collect items and fight bosses to save the world of demons. The metascore of 80 is good, but is only based on a manageable number of 23 ratings.
