iPhone 16 leaked cases show off camera island redesign, Pro models might switch to polished titanium frame
Leaker Sonny Dickson has posted an image showing off a pair of cases meant for Apple's upcoming vanilla iPhone 16 models. These seemingly confirm recent rumors that the phones will feature a new camera island design with the sensors aligned vertically while the LED flash will move to the right of the bump.
Also noticeable is an indentation on the lower left side of the cases, which will likely accommodate the oft-rumored new hardware button. Apple Hub claims that this so-called "Capture button" will also be able to detect touch and pressure, allowing users to zoom in or out by swiping, manually focus with a light press, and start a recording with a hard press. Hopefully, these functions will be customizable, similar to the Action button.
A separate report from South Korean leaker yeux1122 indicates that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models might have a glossier finish on their titanium frames, unlike the brushed texture of the 15 Pros. As a result, this would make them look more like the polished stainless steel rails of older Pro iPhones while keeping the benefits of a grade 5 titanium frame, such as higher resistance to scratches and scuffs.
Apple will probably announce the iPhone 16 lineup in September; however, we'll glean far more about them until then if these leaks are anything to go by.
